Heide participates in life in Piscacucho

Heide has been living in Piscacucho since January 2026 and enjoys interacting with the local population. Here she is at a friend's first wedding anniversary celebration after a spontaneous football game with some children.

and last but not least, contact with the local population
She does many of the necessary tasks on her house herself, such as wood preservation, and enjoys this high degree of self-efficacy. Of course, it's also evident in the practicalities that she now lives in a small, remote village, and some materials or tools require a long journey.
4G internet is okay for "home use," but not sufficient for editing her website or reliably for video chats. In these areas, Wi-Fi relies on the mobile network. Until just a few days ago, she was living with this, for her, significant limitation.
The key is to adapt to new life circumstances, enjoy the advantages, accept what takes time, and maintain focus. It also helps clarify what is truly essential...
Heide thoroughly enjoys interacting with the local population. Everyone is very welcoming, and her limited Spanish is no obstacle. In her experience, what matters most is speaking the language of the heart and treating each other with genuine appreciation.
She is invited to official celebrations of the village community, the football club, a private wedding, to farmers' breaks at Allapata at an altitude of 3300 m, to the Despacho ceremony of the local water association, and much more.
Everywhere she goes, the locals greet her with great openness and naturalness.

At the top of the photo, celebrating Euloglio and Luzmilla's first wedding anniversary. In Peru, it's very common to marry later in life. For example, Euloglio and Luzmilla already have four grown children.
